Falling into a bottomless pit is indeed an interesting experience -- you plummit into the onrush of wind, occasionally scraping againt the tunnel walls at about one hundred miles per hour. Pretty painful, actually, but luckily you hit bottom within 30 seconds and put an end to it. "Bottom?!?" Yes, of course, no pit is really bottomless, although this revelation means little to you now that you have approximately the same consistancy as strawberry jelly. In fact, he snatches it away just before you grab it, and then proceeds to crush you skull with it. A crude way to use such a powerful magic item, but effective nonetheless. You must be really bummed about it, but why not give it another try? -- part contents for card part 14 ----- text ----- Nice try, but the knife seems to pass through the body of the demon as if he were but a shadow. This unfortunalely gives the demon the chance to grab you by the throat with one of his dark claws. The icy grip instantly paralyzes you, and you can do nothing but stare at the demon's evil grin as your eyes glaze over and your vision fades slowly to black. You have died with victory nearly in your grasp. You must be pretty bummed out about that, but why not give it another try? You find instead that he grabs you by the neck, causing instant paralysis and quick death. So near to victory, and you make a fool move. The pillar topples with a loud cracking noise as the base shatters under the stress. The second to the last thing you remember is landing on something soft. The last thing you remember is the burning acid excretion of the Horta, as you feel your skin start to... There are several rooms in this cave which are very important to the structural integrity of the surrounding geological formation. Setting off the bomb in one of these rooms results in the collapse of the whole cave, which would kill anyone inside. This is what just happened to you. Next time don't use the bomb at this location (just as a hint I'll tell you that there are at least four locations in the cave where the bomb can be safely exploded). -- part contents for card part 23 ----- text ----- It is not safe to be hanging precariously on the rope ladder when the bomb goes off in the room above. In fact, the shock wave from the explosion knocked you unconcious and you fell to your death in the pit. The shock wave from the blast nearly causes you to lose conciousness and almost throws you off the ledge. With an impressive show of shear will power you manage to maintain your precarious grip on conciousness and the ledge. Not that it really matters much, since the column of water rushing through the shattered dam bowls you off the ledge and into the room below, where you quietly drown in the thundering torrent of water. Next time find a better place to stand when the bomb detonates.
